Eating Disorder Nutrition Counseling
Registered Dietitian
She/Her/Hers
Hi, I'm Erin Kinley, RDN, LDN!
I am a Health At Every Size® (HAES), anti-diet, fat positive, trauma informed registered dietitian whose goal is to help individuals break away from the idea that one’s appearance or body shape dictates their overall health.
As a dietitian I hope to help people improve their relationship with food and their bodies by removing the moral value put on foods, being able to include all foods into their diet without judgment, and getting back to a place where one can trust their body to eat by utilizing the Intuitive Eating framework.
I believe that everyone deserves individualized care since each person has individual needs and goals. When meeting with clients I take the time to listen to them and their lived experiences. It is my goal to work as a team with a client and to let them lead the way as I support them through their journey.
Lets Get to Know Each Other!
I have experience working with people of all ages ranging from infancy through adulthood. I love working with people at each stage and have a particular interest in working with women who are pregnant and/or postpartum, parents of young children, and children/adolescents. When working with parents or the pediatric population I draw from the principle of the Division of Responsibility. Through my own lived experience raising two children I have become passionate about helping foster a healthy relationship with food from a very young age. My hope when working with parents is to help prevent disordered eating, eating disorders, or body image concerns. I have also become passionate about helping kids that are more selective eaters, including kids who are neurodivergent and struggle with the taste or texture of foods. I want every family to find a way to make mealtimes more enjoyable for the whole family while also meeting everyone where they are at. This includes children, or anyone, who struggles with ARFID.

In the past, I have researched how diet culture plays a part in the intake of postpartum women and breastfeeding women, particularly when it comes to elimination diets recommended to breastfeeding women and how they are often unnecessary. Additionally, I have presented at high schools on topics such as intuitive eating, anti-diet, eating disorders, Health At Every Size, and body image concerns.
Here's my experience & approach-
I received my undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from West Chester University. I then went on to complete my dietetic internship and my master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition at Immaculata University. I have experience working with eating disorders (anorexia, binge eating disorder (BED), Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) and Other Specified feeding or eating disorder (OSFED) and Bulimia) at many levels of care including inpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient. In addition to working with eating disorders, I also have experience working with medically complex children. There I became comfortable working with the pediatric population, including children who have severe picky eating or needed supplemental nutrition via oral supplements or tube feedings. In addition to my education and work experience I continue to educate myself through continuing education and get weekly supervision. It is important to me to continue educating myself and to always be open to learning new things and adapting my nutrition approach.
Eating Disorder Nutrition Counseling (Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, OSFED, Binge Eating Disorder, ARFID)
Are you recovering from an eating disorder or disordered eating? I can support you through your recovery process. I will meet you where you are and take a client centered approach during treatment. I do not believe in a standard treatment or meal plan for each person and often encourage moving away from a meal plan, unless clinically indicated. I recommend that someone in eating disorder treatment have an outpatient team including a dietitian, therapist, and medical provider. If someone does have a team in place it is part of my practice to collaborate with that team with a client’s consent.
Intuitive Eating
Are you looking to move away from diet culture and develop a better relationship with food and your body? I have researched, educated myself on, and implemented in my own life the Intuitive Eating model. I can support you through your intuitive eating journey and assist you as you break free from diet culture. Intuitive eating is about listening to your body and what it wants/needs to eat. There is no “perfect” way to do it and the end goal is to get back to a place where you feel confident in nourishing your body while enjoying food at the same time.
Body Image Concerns
Do you struggle with your relationship with your body and it’s impacting your relationship with food? We can work together on strengthening your relationship with your body. Starting with body respect and moving towards body neutrality to decrease the focus on your body. I understand that one’s body image can be impacted by many factors including societal pressures from our fat-phobic society, pressures from loved ones, and pressures from the medical community, so it will be addressing each of those factors when a client is ready. My hope is that everyone can move towards knowing their body is the least interesting thing about them.
Nutrition for Tube Feeding (ENTERAL)
Whether you are looking for someone to help you maintain your tube feeding, wean from your tube feeding, or help with any other nutrition support I have experience working with all ages that need nutrition support. Knowing that there are times when enteral feeds, or other forms of nutrition support, are very important and needed, I can help make that experience as stress free as possible.
Pediatric Nutrition Counseling
Do you have a child that struggles with picky eating? Is your child having trouble growing? Do you need assistance fostering a good relationship with food for your whole family? Through professional and personal experience, I have gained knowledge on how to help your child grow and, more importantly, foster a good relationship with food. I work from an intuitive eating lens with people of all ages, and often encourage the implementation of the Division of Responsibility with the pediatric population. Raising intuitive eaters is no easy feat in the world of diet culture so I can help you and your family weed through all of the conflicting advice on how to feed your kiddos.
When I'm out of the office...
In my free time, I like to spend time with my husband, 2 kids, and 4 cats: Tyrion, Sansa, Oberyn, and Arya (all named after Game of Thrones). If you join a session with me virtually you will likely see at least one of my cats, but no worries they are anti-diet, fat positive, and HAES aligned cats.
When not in sessions or spending time with my family I enjoy reading books, crocheting, doing puzzles, or listening to true crime podcasts.
I offer in-person sessions in Newtown, Pennsylvania (Bucks County, PA) and virtual sessions in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Colorado, Texas, California, Connecticut, Arizona, and Florida!
